Handwritten notes in the films of Alfred Hitchcock, featuring:
Sabotage (1936), Rich and Strange (1932), The Man Who Knew Too Much(1934), Rear Window (1954), The Wrong Man (1956), North by Northwest(1959), The Lodger (1927), Torn Curtain (1966), Spellbound (1945), Foreign Correspondent (1940).
By the way, in several of Hitchcock’s films women attempt to assert agency in some way by writing a note, but decide to tear it up. I can’t recall an instance of a man in Hitchcock doing the same.
Suspicion (1941)
Vertigo (1958)
Psycho (1960)
